I'm wearing a "new" sweater today. I bought it (on hyperclearance for about $5) about a year ago, but despite the "L" on the label it was too small. This is the first time I've been able to wear it. It's a dusty-rose color, 100% rayon (mmmmmm rayon), and has a very open knit and flared 3/4 length sleeves. It has a scoop neck and a little ribbon tie under the bust. It is rather sparsely lined (just a bit o' fabric covering the bust area), so I'm wearing a silk camisole under it.

To review:
  • First time I've been able to wear it.
  • Pink.
  • Rayon.
  • Pretty, pretty, pretty.
  • Hint of sexy which is within 'appropriate work clothing' bounds.
  • Silk camisole.
*is in clothing-heaven*

I second [livejournal.com profile] selinawoman on the wow. *smiles*

For a second there I thought your icon was a picture of Audrey Hepburn. The resemblance there is pretty incredible. :)

You know, Katrina and I have very different experiences this way. She hears all the time that she looks like someone or other famous (always someone beautiful, of course); I never, ever, ever hear that I look like anyone, famous or not. No "you look like a person I used to know." No mistaken identity stuff--if someone says they thought they knew me, either they did or they were hitting on me clumsily.

I'm not sure if I'm jealous or not. It must be pretty neat to be compared to women who are considered icons of feminine beauty, but it's also pretty cool to have my face be just mine.

Although I have no idea what makes it so weird that no one can ever think of anyone I resemble. It looks like a fairly normal face to me. One or two of the features as expected, in the normal places and reasonably normal proportions. Some of them a bit pointy, but not exactly outside of human range...

*grin* Forgive the tangent. It has reminded me to pay for my account so I can have an icon of my face again.

curmudgn: (explaining it all)

I'll second [livejournal.com profile] wandereringray, but qualify it by saying that I think the resemblance comes from (1) the gamine-ish hairstyle, (2) the lipstick, and (3) the photo angle, which emphasizes the vertical rather than horizontal plane of K's face.
