Upon arriving at Dad's last night, I was informed that the bed in which the kids usually sleep was covered with "stuff from under the stairs" (not as scary as it sort of sounds) and that if I wanted to use the bed I'd have to clear it off. There wasn't actually much stuff there, and clearing it off went pretty quickly.
One of the things on the bed was a plastic grocery bag full of something ivory and white. It was the dress and veil I wore on my 18th birthday, when I married the boys' father. It was also the dress my mother wore for her first wedding, which was not to my father.
I'll have to look for pictures of the wedding. The dress is ivory lace and quite nice... the veil is an over the top monstrosity.
ETA: "over the top" pun for the veil was totally unintentional and is currently causing me to wince.
