(Realized I'm saying the web between thumb and fingers, but meaning the first knuckle of the index finger. And yes, this means I spend altogether too much time thinking about the mechanics of such things.)
Funny thing is, that in my family we have this shtick in which when you press someones' nose they are supposed to HONK like a duck. If they don't I'm likely to tell them their nose is broken. While the older kids don't honk so much themselves anymore, they are constantly testing my nose.
My family does this thing where you press the baby or child's nose and say "beep beep," then the forehead and say "honk honk," then squeeze the cheeks and say "aa-oooga! aa-oooga!" That's what I thought of when I saw the icon.
