After doing some serious Googling, I've ascertained that Montana Medicaid does indeed cover sterilization. Now I have to decide if I want to have the surgery done. I probably should... just get it done while I have Medicaid. Ack. Scary. I don't like surgery. It's not fun. I hate it when the only information I can find on a procedure (say, tubal ligation) is "oh, there are risks and complications, but you'll be fine, dearie." Fuck that. I want to know.

I'm sure there's more involved information out there somewhere.

I dunno if this will help you (or if you've already seen it) but this page has a little info, and further links for other information regarding a tubal.

I looked at a couple other sites, but there doesn't seem to be whole lot of info out there (one wonders why? Maybe they don't want women being sterilized?)

Thanks for the link! I'm reading it now.

While searching last night, I found an interesting contrast... it appears that the only women "They" want sterilized are the poor and those with disabilities. That's a whole can of worms in itself... that it seems some of the same people who are all for contributing to the overpopulation of the planet by middle-income white people are also in favor of sterilizing the poor, the disabled, and the non-white. How 'bout that.

In this case though, the "sterilize the poor" thing works in my favor.

I believe it's just laproscopic surgery. Small incisions, quick healing time. Try this link:

I guess we should have had the "life begins at conception" talk before you got the IUD. My periods are always irregular, so I can never tell for sure. But, last summer, I didn't have one for nearly three months. I'm pretty sure I was pregnant, although the test I took came out negative. Without boring the general viewer with all the personal drama surrounding this event (and there was a great deal), I ended up not pregnant, so I put it behind me. Should have told you. Sorry.

Well, my doctor did try to have that talk with me, but I sort of waved it away with the "Yes, but I'm going to be using condoms, the IUD is just for my own peace of mind, so that's not really an issue for me."

Um. Yeah.

Thanks for the link!!
