Opt-in opportunity, folks: I got a "here's a recipe, send a recipe to person #1, then copy e-mail, move sender's name up, put your name as #2, send to ten people" thingy. It looks cool to me and I've got a nice recipe to share, but I don't want to bother people who'd rather not be bothered.

Therefore, if you want to play, please comment. (Spare the inboxes of those who'd rather not get this! Think of the inboxes!) Thanks!

ETA: nothing like getting your super-duper challah recipe all ready to go, realizing the recipient's email address contains some (transliterations of) Hebrew letters, and deciding to go with a different recipe entirely. ;-)

Oh! Send the Challah - she'd love it...
the transliterations refer to the band she sings for... Czech girl, foodie, she'd love your Challah! :)

BTW are you still sewing? Dad had Baby Sis and I go through Mom's (hundreds of) patterns, as apparently she and I are the only kids who have an interest in sewing. (This boggles me, I'd always assumed that [livejournal.com profile] redrita and [livejournal.com profile] americanvalkrie learned to sew and enjoyed sewing, because it's such a Mormon status thing (as in "I am a good Mormon woman because I have these skills and use them") along with baking one's own bread, growing one's own food, canning food, etc.

Anyhow, I grabbed lots of little-girl-dress patterns (emphasis on big puffy ones lol, because they're so fun to make and watch the kid wear) in case you still wanted them.

I'd certainly be interested in them!

But I'm not 'still' sewing, so much as starting out.
I hand sew amazingly well - machines and I have never gotten along.

I still haven't actually bought one. Was rather hoping the Christmas elves might - but no such luck.

But it's part of my goals for 2006. :)

Ummmm... I would like to present as further proof that I am NOT a good Mormon wife, and was, like, TOTALLY not designed for this housework thing... my slightly sprained wrist from scrubbing the bathtub.

Pity Me.

You're ahead of me in that you TRIED scrubbing the tub. ;-)

I shall, however, pity you.

Oh, I sew, too! I must be a GREAT Mormon, then.

I think the main point in this is that we've never been a family of status... we're a family of "do damn well what we feel like," which is why I absolutely refused to learn how to sew. Or scrapbook. And I detested home canning season. But as far as cooking... I've always loved to eat!

Point #2: "Good Mormon Wife" only goes as far as where the expectations match the acceptance of the mate. Which is why I'm going to be the "Mormon Wife that's Good To Her Husband" instead.

And please opt me in, if it isn't too late.

I wanna play!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!

I could really use soup/stew recipes, including meat or poultry. My doc's saying I'm anemic, so I'm trying to have as much meat as I can afford. Which isn't much, hence stretching it by making soup or stew. :)
