Note to Self #1: when going to reset a tripped breaker, if you find yourself standing in front of a large breaker box which controls the entire third floor and none of the breakers is labeled with anything more specific than "outlet," STOP and warn everyone in the office to save their work and preferably shut down their computers before you embark upon the "flip 'em all" method of finding the right breaker. This will likely increase your life expectancy and significantly lower your risk of mysterious stapler accidents. That, or just call the landlord. Like you'll have to anyway because after flipping them all, the microwave and water heater still don't work.

Note to Self #2: when having a "part work, part bullshit" IM chat with the guy who is paying you rather well to do freelance programming, don't go off on how idiotic and ignorant you think the current administration is until after you know his political bent.

Hey, looka me, still alive and employed and stuff! So far. Heh. Oops.

Bet I know who you're talking about. No, not all artists are political liberals ..but the one I'm thinking of is perfectly capable of having devil's-advocate discussions. We had some interesting chats about _Farenheit 9/11_, as I recall, which is a flick I wanted to like a lot more than I ended up doing.

If you have any nice things to say about Ayn Rand, dropping them into the conversation would be useful :>

It all worked out fine... he countered with a few small rants about Democrats, we found a bit of common ground, and we moved on to other things. :-)

Still, a bit of an *urkk* moment, because not all people are comfortable with strong differences of opinion.

Me: I saw that yesterday. I do adore Google bombs. BTW, it's conservative hearts that are black... mine's the bleeding heart, remember? ;-)


Him: If you're under 30 and a conservative, you don't have a heart.
If you're over 30 and a liberal, you don't have a wallet.


Me: I am most definitely in the latter category!

Nope, just the third floor of my office building, and only for a few seconds, but long enough to cause a great deal of aggravation.
