Once again, that [livejournal.com profile] absurd_observer is a demigod. He came over about 6 pm last night, armed with a magic marker, Vanilla Cream soda, and booze. "I know you stopped drinking," he said, "but I thought perhaps you might appreciate a Mike's Lemonade after the week you've had." I appreciated the Mike's. There's another in the fridge. He washed my dishes. (This is, of course, the ultimate act of love, above even the toilet-scrubbing I performed when he moved.) He stayed until midnight, then we drove our fully-laden vehicles over to the new place and unloaded them.

[livejournal.com profile] smoonn came over last night! She shared in the mildly boozy (doesn't take much for me, [livejournal.com profile] absurd_observer was less affected) banter for a couple hours, and proved herself as utterly fabulous IRL as she is online. I hope to spend more time with her when she visits in November!

The "burly guys" should be arriving soon. [livejournal.com profile] absurd_observer, taking a note from my book, "feels guilty that none of my friends will be represented among the moving crew" and so has taken Mark and Eliza for the day. James is here helping me. He showed up just now with a hot cup of chai and a packaged thingy of biscotti. Okay, so he's surpassed demigod status and is now full-fledged deity.

In other news, my phone service won't be hooked up at the new place until Wednesday or Thursday. This means that today is my last day online for a while. Ohhhhhhh NOOOOOOOooooooooooooo!!!
I'm back down to a sports bra and shorts, like last night. I started this morning with the sports bra, shorts, t-shirt, and back supporter belt. It was kind of a cute pseudo-leiderhosen look. It got too hot and sweaty, so I stripped back down. I really should be wearing the belt... :-\

The burly-guys didn't show, probably because I was sick for the last three days of work. Once I get more shit packed up and all the beds broken down and ready to move, I'll call one or more of them and ask them to please come help me heft furniture. (Stubborn? Independent? Who?)
Very tired now. Burly-guys never showed. Damn. I called my friend Heidi. "Hi, I haven't talked to you in a while, how are you, want to help me move? Right now? Thanks!" She and her wife, Kara, came over and we did some amazing box-hauling. All-dyke action, baby! There are now a bunch of boxes at the new place. A few of them (dishes and food) have been unpacked.

I'm heading back over there now to meet [livejournal.com profile] absurd_observer when he drops the kiddos off. James has been quite the little helper today.

None of the furniture has been moved, except for the rocking chair. Need a pickup and at least one burly-person. If the beds don't get moved tonight, we can all share the new futon that was delivered today.
