I canceled the "neck scar do-over" appointment. I was feeling too lousy.

It's hard to know which symptoms are from the illness and which are from the damn smoke. It's like a fog all through the area. We've been at a Stage II Air Alert since Monday. Visibility is currently at 4 miles. At 5 pm, it was at 1.8 miles. Every time I go outside and breathe that nasty air, my head starts pounding twice as hard.

I bought two bandannas today. I was looking for do rags. The only ones I found were black with a Jack Daniels print. I'm thinking black isn't conducive to the head-cooling function I'm wanting, so I skipped it. The bandannas will work until I find a do rag I like. (One is sky blue, the other is pink-purple. Both have a tie-dye mottled color pattern.) I may start wearing a bandanna tied over my mouth and nose whenever I go outside. It really does make a difference, and isn't terribly uncomfortable. (I'll be far from the only person in Missoula wearing something over the mouth and nose.) I also bought a sticker for my hard hat. I was looking for a "Girls Kick Ass" sticker, but couldn't find one. The right side of my hard hat now sports a large purple sticker that says "All Hail to the Mighty Princess." The left side will wait for the "Girls Kick Ass" sticker. ;-)

Fever is spiking. I'm sweating like crazy. Soon I'll get chills. Whee. Thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] fuckingsilence for the Nyquil he bought me months back... I feel a "healing coma™" coming on. (*glug glug shudder zzzzzzzzzzzz*)

Gotta Get a Picture of That

You really need to get a picture of you in the hardhat with the 'Princess' sticker. That would sincerely rock hard.

Your "All hail to the mighty Princess" sticker reminds me of a day last year when my abusive ex looked me in the eye and told me that he'd always treated me like a princess. My delayed response, after a good long Internet rant, was that I need a ball cap that says; "Talk to the Tiara!" I really need to get Cafe Press working on that....

I have this book that a guy friend bought a couple of years ago for my birthday that rocks, you might have heard of it. It's called "Kiss My Tiara: How to rule the world as a smartmouth goddess." It's by Susan Jane Gilman, and I would recommend it to any woman. She deals with issues like PMS, niceness, marriage, masturbation, homosexuality, fashion, dating, family . . . the list goes on and on. It's awesome. Head to your nearest bookstore to pick it up today!!

Rest...

and feel better soon.

Make that picture of you in your high heels, jeans, a shirt of some type, and your hard hat...
that's the way I picture you (even though I know you're really in work boots *smiles*)

[livejournal.com profile] fuckingsilence pointed out that taking a pic of myself in the corset, stockings, hard hat, and toolbelt wouldn't work so well. Says that corsets don't "go" with the construction-worker theme.

Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] luminousx. Blame [livejournal.com profile] fuckingsilence!

ah.... but I didn't go that far. The jeans and stuff still go with the construction look.... though if you're wearing your high heeled sandals to work :D you're crazy (almost said nuts but thought twice about it *smiles*)

LOL yeah, it's hard enough keeping my footing in hiking boots. (Montana ground is very rocky, so the work site has a TON of uneven ground and ankle-turner rocks.)

I don't wear a tiny little tank-top to work either, but I wasn't feeling up to getting all dressed to take the hard hat pics. :-)

I can attest...

...that she's gorgeous in heels AND in boots.

Heels, jeans, and utterly see-through lace negligee-thing was a really nice look...

Honestly, so is the normal jeans, boots, tank top. :)

I don't think I wore heels the night you and John talked me into wearing a backless "why bother, it's completely transparent" teddy as a shirt to the Ani DiFranco concert.

People have finally stopped asking me "Was that you at the Ani concert? With that really great, um, shirt? Standing with the woman who had the incredible hair?"
