Families tighten belts in face of impending welfare cuts

Of course I'd like to clarify some of the details and all, but I think it's a good write-up. I haven't yet seen the "hard copy" of the paper, which may have our picture. I'll see if any of the neighbors get the paper.

Some guy called me just now. He'd read the story in the paper, and called to tell me that his landlord is looking to rent a 2 bedroom apartment for $650, all utilities paid. That's still way more than I can afford, but a lot more possible than $850 or more.

So Missoula being the small town that it is (and both of you being "Kates", and Feminists ;-)) do you know Kate Kahan (director of WEEL)? With a name like that, if she isn't Jewish, then I don't know who is :-) "Kahan" and Kahn, are both derived from the Hebrew "Cohen". Although my name was originally KAM - (standard Ellis-Island mess-up), I am still of the same Levite tribe.

Yes, I know Kate. I've been active in WEEL, and when I get more time, plan to become active again.

Kate is pretty awesome, and yes she's Jewish. And yes, I've had a crush on her. (And yes, she dates women.)
