"Mom... There's a Vacuum on the Porch."

James called me at work this afternoon to say "Mom... there's a vacuum on the porch. May I open the box and put it together?" I gave him permission to do so. We now own two functional vacuum cleaners. They look so happy together! The new vacuum is slightly sexier than the old one. (One upon a time I watched cars to rate their sexiness... the past ten years it's all about the sexy, sexy vacuum cleaners.)

When I arrived home with Eliza, James gave me a full tour of all the new vacuum's features and showed me how to access and clean each of its filters. I've told the kids that they're not allowed to vacuum anything until the boys' room is clean, so it can be vacuumed first. Bwaha.

Thank you very much for the gift, tigermorph and sweet_violet! Of course, having a second vacuum means the first will never again stop working, because there'd be no satisfaction in the rebellion. I'm okay with that.
