HOO-AAAH!

I worked eight hours. I didn't have to ask for a less strenuous job. I was mildly annoyed at having to stop what I was doing to make a parts run. I spent most of the day working up a good sweat and a little out of breath. I am now very tired and sore. YAY ME!!!!!

The smoke is slowly filling the valley up again, but compared to the last two weeks, it's crystal clear. It's SOOO good to breathe deeply again.

Babies!

Squeals of delight currently echoing through the neighborhood: "The salamanders had birth!! The salamanders have a baby and a child!!!" Question of the day: do Long-toed Salamanders lay eggs, or bear live young? (Answer: They lay eggs. A neighbor tells me that they have sex... and that this once resulted in a very "interesting" slumber party when the 7 year-old girls wanted to know what the salamanders were doing.) Either way, we have two itty bitty salamanders. One is male, one is female. They're about two inches long and just cute as all hell.

I strained my lower back at work today. Owwwwwwwwie.
