Quote of the Day

"I don't know about you, but when George Bush said he did not believe in nation building, I did not know he was talking about this nation." -- Senator Barack Obama

He is one of the people I go to the polls to vote *for*, as opposed to voting against his opponent.

Yeah, it's too bad he isn't old enough (yet) to run for president. I'm sure a lot of people would vote for him.

Actually, Mr. Obama is about 45 (see wikipedia and the minimum age for President is 35.

He probably won't run because:

1. He is still green (he needs more time on the national stage).
2. Hilary Clinton and/or Al Gore would be powerful, entrenched primary opponents. They would be well funded and supported by the establishment. I think if Obama runs it will be as the favorite and backed by the party aparatus - he seems to be a centrist and compromiser who is meeting people and shaking hands.
3. The Senate is a bad jumping ground. Ideally he would serve a term, then jump to being a Governor and then run.

Someone needs to dig up some dirt on Hillary so she has to drop out - I don't want her as the front runner for anything. I'd have to vote for her, if she's the nominee, but I can't stand her hypocritical, lying, obnoxious self.

2008 is too early. If the GOP wins in 2008 (help us all), then probably 2012, if not, 2016. I'd support him strongly.
