Stuff

Thing #1: I got used to caffeine, as in coffee-caffeine, when I was drinking a cup or two each day. Tea-caffeine is not cutting it. *grump*

Thing #2: Oh, well, of course I automatically chose the layout which is apparently a much-desired and difficult thing to create! Typical, really. The Montana Women Vote site is two columns, but otherwise the same: full-width header and footer, navigation sidebar with fixed max-width, liquid main content area.

I'm addicted to coffee, as long as it is heavily laced with International Delight French Vanilla Fat Free creamer. And I'm in a mild state of panic, knowing that I don't have much money and I'm getting dangerously low on both and coffee and creamer . . . :)

Good black tea, steeped in a pre-heated teapot for five+ minutes isn't as strong as coffee, but it is pretty strong.

(In lieu of a teapot, you can use an insulated cup.)

It helps (for caffeination) if you're like me, and just brew a quart of it in the morning to start your day.

My tea tends to steep for "until I remember I'm making tea," which is generally over five minutes. I guess I just need more of it! (Or to get rid of the need for caffeine, but making more tea sounds nicer.)

Two big mugs of "Oh, right, I was making tea" did the trick today. Nice.

Isn't A List Apart just the best thing since sliced bread? I ran into Jeffrey Zeldman at a conference a few years ago and it was all I could do not to squee like a fawning fangirl.

I'm glad I don't have any problems with coffee. Because I'm mildly allergic to black teas, and if I can't have caffeine, life is not worth living.

A List Apart is fantastic.

MSIE can suck body parts I don't actually possess. (It looks great in Firefox. Not so much in MSIE 6.x ... *sigh*)

But! I'm learning lots with the trying to make it look good in both! And if I nod hard enough I'll believe that makes up for the aggravation! Because I'll be too dizzy to argue!

Yeah, browser differences drive me batshit nuts sometimes. And I still struggle with padding and margins in CSS-p. It usually boils down to: "Make it look as good as I can, and be sure it degrades acceptably in browsers that suck rocks."

Currently, MSIE lacks scroll bars and goes off the page both horizontally and vertically. Joy... (Makes working on the incredibly boring Board Orientation Handbooks look appealing, but I can't really leave the site looking like this. That'll teach me to mess with the live code before thoroughly testing it.)

I am currently hating MSIE's ignorance of min-height. Stupid, stupid MSIE!

There are opiates in coffee. :-)

A nice cup of green tea is good, so is a nice cup of coffee, but they are not the same, not at all.

I will pick up the hook.
You will see something new.
Two things. And I call them
Thing One and Thing Two.
These Things will not bite you.
They want to have fun.
Then, out of the box
Came Thing Two and Thing One!

(sorry, it begged to be said)
