I Don't Know What You're Talking About.

Women aren't treated as sex objects in the computer and tech support industry.

Wait a minute. You mean I'm not supposed to ogle the cute network chick? I thought all women were put on the earth for my enjoyment and entertainment...

I told my boss (we were doing tag-team "WTF" over the ad) that I do have a shirt just like that, but he'd have to pay me three times my regular wage to wear it to work. And that I'd be expensing the pushup bra.

And that I'd be expensing the pushup bra.

Pfft. And the spa/massage therapy to recover from how uncomfortable wearing a push-up bra at work all day would be. And the lawsuit liability for all the people you'd have to smack.

My sister/boss--the first job she had as a tech here in Seattle, they made her wear a dress to client sites. So there she is, trying to figure out why the computer's smoking, and the damn thing is under the guy's desk. She used to throw people out of their offices while she was crawling around under desks, because no way was she going to work while people looked up her skirt.

Yeah, I'm all about the high necklines, long shirttails, and slacks. With knee-high socks even.

Also: why bother with smacking people? My Leatherman tool has three blades.

What? Women are things.

Well, with a name like that...

All right!

"You can lick my network probe, baby"

No idea what ever did made you think otherwise?? After all this is the industry populated by those nerdy geeks who are least likely to get laid, simply because their human to human interfacing skills are so thoroughly messed-up. So you expect them to act any way other than as pubescent Hornies, or to focus their marketing for this audience.

This is reason #2645 why I'm trying to exit the hi-tech world. I'm tired of ultra-bright people (well some of them) who can't [make the effort to] communicate beyond the "hello, how's your day" level.

I'm afraid I don't see anyone in the thumbnail or the page it links to.

That's the woman in the billboard for the library tower highrise condos under construction here in San Diego (the partially completed site currently overlooks the gaping pit which will someday be the new city library). She's wearing the same shirt/glasses/pushup bra ensemble, but she's pursing her lips suggestively while making the "sshhh" gesture (index finger in front of mouth). I wish I could find a picture of her -- it makes me snort when I pass it on the trolley every day.
