Somebody Loves Me

FedEx just delivered a dozen roses to my office. They're for me.

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] marialuminous!

Would red tulips have sent the wrong message then?

I'd have known exactly what you meant.

I think people just have a burning need for every adult to be in a not-single romantic configuration, and therefore really want a flower delivery to mean budding or blooming romance.

.. you should see people twitch when [livejournal.com profile] redrita sends flowers.

Well then if every flower delivery means budding romance, I should warn you that I've been wooing three other people besides you. I hope you're not jealous. Some of them actually got tulips, too.

I got flowers, therefore I'm special, therefore jealousy doesn't enter the picture. :-p

... Eliza will be heartbroken. Even though she's never met you. How dare you display affection for someone else and not include her? Well, not so much include as make it clear that you love her best of all. *grin*

Bring a flower or two home, give them to her, and tell her that I sent them specifically for her. Pick an orange or pink one. Tell her that I love her best out of all the seven-year-olds I know.

If I didn't already adore you, this comment would have done the trick.

Being kind and thoughtful to my kids pretty much guarantees adoration from me.
