Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha and Poll-arized. (Haw. Pollarized.)

C'mon, take the poll, I wanna know, because I answered "Yes" to almost all of these.

[Poll #501132]

EDIT: if you're not on my friendslist, kindly introduce yourself in comments please! Otherwise I'll spend all day analyzing your userinfo, trying to figure out who you are and where you came from. Thanks. My coworkers thank you as well, as they really like it when I get work done during work hours. ;-)

I took the poll but I think what I have isn't ADD... more like early onset Alzheimer's or severe and sudden forgetfulness.

I only don't do the credit card thing because I've never gotten a credit card, for JUST THAT REASON.

[identity profile] drmagoo.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Depending on how you read them, I do maybe 2.

I don't have ADD or whatever...
I just don't get enough sleep!

Hiya. I found my way over here from [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha. I am a college student, bookworm, and your average geek. *waves*

[identity profile] ebon-bear.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I ticked the majority of them but I'm the only male in my family who's never been diagnosed as ADD and I think I've resigned myself to the fact that it's purely because I've never been tested.

obligatory comment :)

[identity profile] waste-machine.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
someone sent me this link at work and i guess i "have nothing better to do than read this."

i don't think i have ADD. i do however have a job that requires me to be working on a million and three things all the time. and it doesn't help that my asisstant isn't so good at assisting. heh.

Hi there! Just wandered over from [livejournal.com profile] daoisraver's journal.

People have been telling me I have ADD for years now. *grins*

And for once, I actually remembered to leave a comment on something! Go me!

[livejournal.com profile] daoistraver, even.

I can type, honest.

I call it "Mommy Alzheimers". They say you lose 50% of your brain with the placenta. Assuming I had 100% to begin with ... after two kids, that leaves me with 25% of original capacity. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. God/dess invented sticky notes for people like you and me.

[identity profile] herbaliser.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
saw it in [livejournal.com profile] ladytabitha's journal. I ticked about five. You people are all crazy. :)

Found this through [livejournal.com profile] daoistraver.

Yep, I clicked a lot of them, and I wanted to write comments in the margins and explain my reasons for a lot of them. Darn computer screen won't let me write comments in the margins. Computer screen also stubbornly refuses to carry on a conversation with me.

You set out to clean the whole house, only to find yourself still in the bathroom two hours later, and on the floor scrubbing the corners with a toothbrush.
And THIS is the reason why I don't do housework very often. I just moved into a new apartment and spent a whole evening cleaning the window blinds in my new room.

Your ice cream tends to get a funny consistency because you always have to refreeze it because you forgot to put it back after a few scoops...
Not only do I know EXACTLY what consistency this is, I happen to like it BETTER at this consistency. Maybe because I've had to refreeze my ice cream a few too many times.

You remember Dad's birthday is July 10th, you know today is July 10th, but you don't realise that today is Dad's birthday!
I did that last week - my brother's birthday was on the 19th, and so was an important appointment. I remembered to get to my appointment, because it was on my brother's birthday, but I forgot that that day was his birthday!

And they should have had a question about television watching. I don't have a TV because I know that I would never sleep or go to work. I would watch TV all way, and yet still mysteriously never watch an entire show, because I'd flip around at each commercial, and start watching a new show, and then flip around again at the next commercial.

Hello! I found myself here by way of [profile] ladytabitha's post. I'm still a bit surprised that the things listed aren't the norm for everyone.

When I say "a bit surprised" I mean "completely baffled". Really. Stunned.

[identity profile] kyra-ojosverdes.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm so with you on that one. What DO they do, if not these things??

Whew!

[identity profile] selinawoman.livejournal.com 2005-05-27 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
I was comforted that I wasn't the only one who got carried away at parties due to being "encouraged" by people laughing at my stupid jokes and paying attention to me when Im outrageous! I just cannot get enough of that... I am actually a shy loner but when *it* turns on, it shines so bright! And yes, the next day you do feel like a boorish idiot.. but it's kinda worth it. Isn't it?

I came because of ladytab. I checked 10 things. Too amusing.

I got here via [livejournal.com profile] daoistraver. I hadn't thought about having ADD before (multitasking ability is good, right? right?) but sometimes I wonder.

[identity profile] kijeren.livejournal.com 2005-05-27 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Found you through...um.. a link? Somewhere?

*sigh*

*grin*

It's positively frightening how many of these I relate to...

[identity profile] kijeren.livejournal.com 2005-05-27 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
And that is exactly why I have tivo... so I can come back to it! Just substitute "TV show" for "book" up there under "reading six at a time..."

hahahahaha...

[identity profile] jazzminarino.livejournal.com 2005-05-27 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
My father often says that I'm ADD, and the problem is that I just move too fast for the old man!

You find yourself at a stop sign and suddenly realize, it's not going to turn green.

Bwahahhaah! I thought I was the only one who did this. Or, I have the problem of stopping at a green light, because my brain will recognize that hey, it's a stoplight, we should stop, regardless of what color it is...

... damned stop signs anyway.

Re: hahahahaha...

[identity profile] kyra-ojosverdes.livejournal.com 2005-05-27 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yeah, I do that all the time. Or the flashing red "four-way stop" or "pretend I'm a stop sign" lights... It takes me a few minutes to realize that it's going to keep flashing red forever and never turn green.

[identity profile] kyra-ojosverdes.livejournal.com 2005-05-27 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I see it as a contimuum rather than a binary yes-or-no thing.

J = my 11 year old son
Me = um, me.
Ma = my 9 year old son Mark
E = my 6 year old daughter

Totally Linear -----------------------------------------E----------------Me--J------Ma--- Totally Nonlinear

A person falling near either end of the spectrum will have serious problems functioning in a society made up of "not at either end of the spectrum" people, but our current western industrialized society definitely favors the linear style of brain function, to the point that the nonlinear style is defined as a disorder.

Continuum. Two of n, one of m. I can too spell.

You'd love Mexico...

For some reason that I have not yet discovered, their stoplights flash before they are turning yellow. It's the strangest thing...

... and of course, I am temporarily distracted by the blinking object!
