Doritos™ Fiery Habañero chips are hot.

This has been today's installment of "Katrina puts words to the blindingly obvious."

Mucho calor

Wellll... You know Minneapolis is the market for which "extra mild" salsa was invented, yes? Because those darned scandihoovians can't take anything too spicy (at least, not the amurrican variety of scandihoovian).

With that in mind, you'll perhaps understand why I sometimes call Seattle, "Minneapolis-by-the-Sea". Because, see, I grew up in El Lay -- was the only anglo on my block for many years, in fact -- and what I think is "hot", and what the locals think is "hot", are two entirely different things.

I rarely deliberately seek out hot and spicy foods. But my baseline is a lot higher than many local to these parts.

*^*^*

{and we'll just make a passing obligatory reference here to who i think is "hot," and strive not to run it into the ground like last time, ok? ok.}

{especially since no one else has made such a reference. which is a damn shame. hmph.}

I'm 1/4 Swedish, and I loves me some spicy food. Of course another 1/4 is Italian, so .... must be the part containing my taste buds ...

I hear that. I usually hear "wow, this is really hot" from my parents while I'm adding crushed pepper flakes and special sauces to make my portion of the meal far hotter.
