I have this problem with missed posts... someone* on my friends list who is very important to me will post something important, and I won't see it. I think this happens because the person in question opens the posting window, takes a while to compose the post (which makes sense for important stuff), then posts... and I've already read my friends page during that time, so the post ends up below the three or four posts which mark "here's where I left off."

So, what I want: a thing which accumulates all posts tagged "important," from everyone on my friends list or just specific users whom I select, and displays them in a format similar to the friends page format.

This seems very buildable, but I've never made any LJ-things before. Has anyone already made this? If not, does anyone know how one would go about doing it?

* I am not referring to one specific person, but to any of a group of people to whom I feel especially close. Instances of important posts include "I'm engaged" or "my pet died" or "my friend died" or "I am seriously ill" or "I need help" or "I am seriously depressed" .... etc. Things I want to know about the same day they're posted, not find out about a week later when the LJ post which I do see makes no sense and I go looking in the person's LJ archives for context.

Okay, I very, very rarely get nostalgic. I'm pretty content to experience things once and move on to new, exciting (or otherwise adrenaline-charged) adventures. There is, however, one notable exception.
